Kindred notes from a 1:1 with Natalie mention her daughter Adelaide, who just turned 6, and her husband Sam. Two cards offer to add Adelaide (Natalie's daughter, age 6, born about 2020) and Sam (Natalie's husband).
The people around your people

Remember their family, not just their name.

Write “her daughter Adelaide just turned 6” and Kindred offers to add Adelaide, connected to her parent. Her age becomes a birth year, so it’s still right next year.

Someone to think of

“That was Saturday. Ask how it went.”

Not every date is a birthday. When someone tells you they’re moving, starting a new job, or running a marathon, note it with the day. Kindred brings it up as something to ask about, around the day it happens.

Each day, Kindred suggests one person you’d enjoy hearing from, with a warm reason to reach out: something they told you, an interest you share, or a link you saved for them. Never a list, and never a count.

FAQ

Questions about birthdays and dates

How can I remember my clients' and friends' birthdays?

Kindred reads birthdays from your contact cards and alerts you on the day, the day before, or both, at a time you choose. It also keeps anniversaries, their children's birthdays, and dates of your own, all on the person's page.

Can I get a reminder the day before a birthday?

Yes. Choose the day before, the day itself, or both. Alerts come at the reminder time you pick. A tap on the alert opens that person's page. (Coming in Kindred 1.2.)

Can Kindred remember the birthdays of someone's children?

Yes. Add a child's birthday on the parent's page and you'll get an alert like any other. If you only know an age from a note, like "just turned 6", Kindred keeps their age right over the years but doesn't alert on a guessed date.

Will Kindred change the birthdays in my contacts?

Not on its own. Kindred reads birthdays from Apple Contacts. If you edit a birthday inside Kindred, that edit is saved to the person's iCloud contact card, and nowhere else.

Can Kindred use the family on someone's contact card?

Yes. The spouse and children in a card's Related Names are offered on that person's page as connections, one at a time. Ignore one and it stays ignored on every device. (Coming in Kindred 1.2.)

Can it remind me about things people tell me, not just birthdays?

Yes. Note something with a date, like a move or a new job, and Kindred brings it up as a reason to reach out around that day, with something to ask about.

Are the alerts private?

With Kindred's Face ID or Touch ID lock on, alerts say what kind of day it is but not whose. Everything else stays on your devices and in your own iCloud.

How much does it cost?

It's free to download and free for 14 days. Then one purchase of $29.99 unlocks Kindred on your iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch, with Family Sharing. No subscription.

Be the one who remembers.

Your contacts already have the birthdays. Kindred makes sure you see them in time.
