Kindred Terms of Sale and Use

Effective September 29, 2026

The short version

Who we are

Kindred is made and sold by Pointe Ventures (“we”). Questions about these terms go to support@kindredcontact.com.

These terms and Apple’s

You get Kindred from Apple’s App Store, so your use of it is licensed under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement and the App Store’s usage rules. These terms add to that agreement and explain what your purchase covers. If the two disagree, Apple’s agreement wins. Apple handles payment, and Apple’s terms apply to it.

Where Kindred is sold

Kindred is offered only on the United States App Store, to people with a US Apple Account, and is priced in US dollars. It is not currently offered in other countries or regions.

The free trial

When you first open Kindred you can use every feature, on every device signed in to your Apple Account, for 14 days. The trial costs nothing, asks for no payment details, and does not turn into a purchase on its own. When it ends, Kindred asks you to buy it before you can keep adding to it. If you choose not to, what you saved stays in your iCloud, and you can still export it from Kindred.

What your purchase covers

The purchase is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase. It gives you a license to use Kindred 1, meaning version 1.0 and any 1.x version we release, on the Apple devices you own or control that are signed in to your Apple Account, as Apple’s usage rules allow. The purchase supports Family Sharing, so the members of your Family Sharing group can use it on their own devices too. You can restore the purchase on a new device from within Kindred at no charge.

The price is set when you buy. We may change the price for new buyers, and that does not affect a purchase you have already made. Launch or sale prices may be lower for a limited time.

Updates

We intend to keep improving Kindred 1, and every Kindred 1.x update we release is included in your purchase at no extra charge. We are not obliged to release updates on any schedule, to add any particular feature, or to keep every feature in future updates. An update may change or remove a feature, for example when Apple changes the system it relies on.

Future major versions

We may one day release a new major version of Kindred (for example, Kindred 2) as a separate purchase. Your purchase does not include future major versions. If we sell one, people who bought Kindred 1 will be offered it at a lower price than new buyers, in the way the App Store allows at the time, such as an upgrade discount or a bundle. The amount and how long the offer lasts will be set when that version is released. Choosing not to upgrade does not take away Kindred 1: it stays yours as installed, subject to the compatibility limits below.

Devices, system versions, and compatibility

Kindred 1 is built for, and tested on, the devices and versions of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and watchOS listed as requirements on its App Store page when you buy it. We do not guarantee that Kindred, or any feature in it, will work on:

We will try to update Kindred 1 for new system releases, but a fix may not always be possible, and it may come in a new major version instead of a Kindred 1.x update. Features that use Apple Intelligence need a device, region, and language that Apple Intelligence supports.

Other services

Some features connect to services we don’t control, such as Microsoft or Google accounts you choose to connect. Those services have their own terms and may change, limit, or end what Kindred can do with them at any time, and a feature that depends on one may stop working as a result. Your purchase does not include access to, or payment for, any other service.

Your data

What you save in Kindred is stored on your devices and in the private iCloud database of your Apple Account. We don’t hold a copy and can’t restore it for you, so keep iCloud turned on and export a backup from Settings from time to time. Kindred needs enough iCloud storage to sync, which Apple provides and charges for. How Kindred handles your information is described in the privacy policy.

Refunds

Apple processes every purchase, so refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com and follow Apple’s policies. We cannot issue refunds ourselves.

No warranty, and limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows, Kindred is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties beyond those set out in Apple’s agreement, and our total liability to you for anything to do with Kindred is limited to the amount you paid for it. Kindred helps you remember; it is not a substitute for your own judgment, and we are not responsible for a missed birthday, reminder, or follow-up.

Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the consumer law of the country you live in that can’t be excluded by agreement.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when a new version is released. The version in force when you bought Kindred continues to describe what that purchase covers. We will post changes on this page with a new effective date.
